Back in Buisiness....

I absoutely LOVE new things, wether it's clothes, house decor, or just changing up my schedule, new things are fun to me! Well, with that being said, we have ALOT of new things going on in the Smith household these days. Last time I posted:
  • Rydin was 5 months
  • Ry couldn't sit up
  • Ry could barely stand up with help
  • Quinn was busy farming
  • My photography interest had just started
  • Things were good :)
NOW:

  • Rydin is 10 months
  • Ry is walking EVERYWHERE
  • Getting into EVERYTHING
  • He can say 5 words and make great tractor & dirtbike noises
  • We've had a great winter/spring to spend lots of time with Quinn
  • Farming is quickly picking back up for Quinn
  • My little sis Hillary moved in with us :)
  • At Christmas I got my dream camera
  • I started a photography business
  • Things are even BETTER...
& here's why!

Rydin's got a surprise!....

Nothing makes me Happier...

I tend to be such a clean freak... but after a baby that went out the window, & fast. Sadly it took MUCH longer to regain my compulsiveness! But WHEW! It's bacccckkk...... After a crazy day of deep cleaning [while my baby slepy off his cold] my house is in order, & almost nothing makes me happier than a clean, organized house :) After me running circles 90 miles an hour all day long, Quinn came home EARLY! So I figured what a better family home evening than pictures @ a pumpkin patch. The result: some CUTE pictures of my 2 handsome boys... I thought my clean house was the best thing since windex, BUT.........NOTHING can make me happier than this!

I LOVE my Boys!

Lovin me some Fall

I absolutely LOVE fall! Its always been my favorite season. Falls are a little bit different now than they were growin up.
You see, in the SOUTH fall meant pretty colored trees, lots of fallen pinecones, a school holiday for the State Fair of Texas, anything & everything fried, our beloved YAMBOREE [only the best small-town fair,rodeo,barn-dance ever], perfect & brisk 70 degree weather [finally no humidity], with an occasional 90 degree day :), crawfish boils, octoberfest @ sixflags, the best time of year for an outdoor concert, haunted houses, lotssss of FOOTBALL games, homecoming, not to mention the homecoming mums the size of Texas :), our family reunion, bonfires [ but just for looks cause its too dang warm still], b-b-q's, and most of all.... great friends & even greater family.
Now up here in Idaho we have even more beautiful colored trees, lots of fallen pinecones, 2 weeks out of school for spud harvest, the eastern idaho state fair [which is NO comparrison], you cant get nothin but a scone fried here, the Madison county fair is terrible, the rodeos even worse, 50 degree days 60 if youre lucky, crawfish.... never heard of it, nothing even similar to sixflags, outdoor concerts where you freeze your hiney off, haunted houses, some football.. which mainly consists of ESPN on 24/7 [nobody does it like the South], homecoming, what are mums?.....family get togethers, bonfires [to actually warm you up], b-b-q's, and still lots of great family & friends...
So ya, in all I would say, fall in the Louisiana & Texas beats fall in Idaho anyday. So why do I still love it here?... This culture may be completely different than I have been accustomed to, my southern ways of talking peoples ears off may still annoy some people, and my loss of an accent, after 5 years of living here still makes me want to cry. But nothing...... can beat what we've got goin on here.
I've got a loving husband who works his rear off at the farm [particularly this time of year] to provide for our family, I've got a little boy who does nothing but smile when this chilly weather makes him sick, We've got 2 dogs that make our lives a little more stressfull but alot more entertaining, We live in a home with 40 acres, on a beautiful river, with some of the best fishin in the nation, that we only imagined we could have at this point in our lives, & not to mention we live by tons of family. I feel SO BLESSED :)
Here's a couple of pictures  I took of Rydin while we were lovin us a perfect Idaho fall day:

Decorating Never Gets Old

There is something about the way you feel when you make those little creative touches to your home, & there's nothing like showing your personality through decoration. I'm a southern girl but I LOVE some bling!.. So my house is a "Country/Elegant" mix. I LOVELOVELOVE takin old stuff and re-doing it to make something great! My mom has definetly been my inspiration & taught me pretty much EVERYTHING I know. If you know either of us, you know that even if we know we will only live somewhere for 3 weeks, that place wont have an empty wall a day later! & when either of us move to a new place, we stay up ALL night until our furniture is arranged and our decorations are up! (my husband dreads this...but he's learning!) MOM you wanted an update so... THIS IS FOR YOU :)

Off to a Slow Start... Obviously

So i had this extreme first blog envisioned... Our life story, from the beginning...our families stories...100's of pictures.... and practically anything else you could think of, then i realised. i have a 4 month old & there ain't no way all that's happening. So I'll sum it all up in the little down time i have :)
I moved to Idaho from the great state of Louisiana when i was 17. I had EVERY intention of hating it & moving home within the first 48 hrs... Needless to say, that was not the case. So here goes:
When i turned 19 i started dating this incredibly genuine, attractive, Idaho farmboy.

He turned my world around. He was different. He was my best friend. The one i vented to about my problems, the one that learned everything there was to know about me, the good & the bad, & still loved me through it. The beginning was tough, not the typical scene from a movie where things just fall into place & everything is perfect. We had to work at it & hard. We are 2 different people, from 2 VERY different cultures, & 2 VERY different upbringings, but all in all, were just 2 country folks with the same goals, interests, & unconditional love. But after those best 2 [life-changing] years of dating came to a close, we started a new beginning.

7-30-10 Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Sealed for time & all eternity
in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
That was the BEST day of my life! That was until....... 5/21/11 When our son Rydin joined our little family! Ya, we didn't waste ANY time :) When you're ready, you're ready.

The day that pregnancy test said(+) i fell so much more in love with Quinn. SERIOUSLY. You think you know the extent of love at marriage, but then you have a baby & realise that it just gets stronger together. I love seeing my husband in him every time i look at him. There's nothing better than knowing that the Lord trusted us to teach him, & be his examples.  And let me tell ya.. He is the happiest, most relaxed baby EVER. & i may be just a little biased.. but dang he is one goodlookin little guy (:  These last couple of  years have been AMAZING if i do say so myself!

So as of right now our family consists of Quinn, Me, Rydin, & our dogs: Chesney & Camo. We love our church, & are so thankful for the knowledge & testimonies of Christ it has helped us attain. Quinn teaches the 12 & 13 year old Sunday School class and I serve in the YoungWomens program in our wards youth. We are so blessed! I love this stage of my life right now. Starting a family and watching your love for each other grow is incredible. I'm always lookin forward to what's next...... many more tractor rides with the love of my life, lots more barefoot babies runnin around, & plenty of crazy life stories to blog about! Can't wait!
